I was born in 1972 into a forces family. After a few years we left that life and moved to a quiet town where I have fond memories of growing up. If at least you put aside the cruel bullying I received at school, but it made me the person I am today, and is where I fell in love with books.
I grew up reading Enid Blyton and her tales of the adventurous famous five. Then as my love of horses grew I fell in love with the black stallion series written by Walter Farley, and in my teenage years I found Mary Stewart's books.
If I wasn't reading then I was at the local riding centre helping out and becoming an accomplished rider.
In 1998 I married and then a few years later had two lovely children. We moved to Canada but after five years our marriage broke up and we returned to the UK.
Now I'm a teaching assistant in a primary school which, while hard work, is enjoyable, and gives me plenty of time to refocus on my writing. My children and I, with a dog called Jazz, a cat called Maize and not forgetting the horse called Nelly, all live in the gorgeous county of Gloucestershire.
